Two of the best things a company can do to create better products are to get some distance in order to stoke creativity and to keep its fingers on the pulse of its customers. For these reasons, Craig will hit the road this summer to travel cross country and spend time with FMG Suite customers on their own turf. Craig will be firing up his motorcycle and heading northeast from San Diego to Duluth, Minnesota for #cruisingwithcraig, FMG Suite idea creation on the road!

Why Hit the Road?

Studies have shown that creative cognitive function improves with increases in distance from the challenge. This is why teams are able to come up with more creative solutions to problems while away at a retreat than in their normal office meeting rooms. And most of us know the importance of keeping close with customers to understand the end user’s experience so that we can build better products. But too often this practice is reactive (listening to customer complaints) rather than proactive (traveling to see the client use products in their natural habitat).

Keep Up with Craig

Craig’s trip on the open road will give him a fresh perspective and his visits with customers are sure to provide new and interesting insights. Follow Craig’s journey, his photos and see videos of his revelations by keeping tabs on the #cruisingwithcraig hashtag and connecting with FMG Suite on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Check out Craig’s route map below to see if he’s coming to a city near you! Back at the FMG Suite office in San Diego, we wish Craig safe and adventurous travels. As they say, the most important reason for going from one place to another is to see the things in between.
