Like marketing, websites and design come with their own dictionary of terms. Banner, 404, favicon, fold, sitemap, masthead…the list goes on. One other term to add to the list is UX, also known as user experience. In this week’s marketing tip video, we define what user experience means in terms of your website and what you can do about it for your marketing.
User experience has exploded over the past few years and there are entire positions at companies dedicated to user experience (we have one ourself!). The ultimate goal of UX is to meet the exact needs of your client or prospect without any clutter to work through. It should be easy and enjoyable for someone to look through your website, and there should be an obvious navigation so people visit your most important pages. While UX is largely a web designer’s job, not an advisor’s, keep UX in mind when making updates to your website.
