Announcing Your New FMG Website

Screen Shot 2016-01-04 at 2.54.16 PMCongratulations! Chances are if you’re reading this article you are the proud parent of a new FMG Suite website. Hopefully you are as proud of your new site as we are, and you want to show it off to your contacts. We suggest sending out an email to all your clients and prospects announcing the new site, explaining to them what’s new, and thanking them for visiting.

Before you announce your website to the world, double-check that everything is in order. Do your links head to where they are supposed to? Are all your images formatted correctly? Has your content been proofread?

Once you are confident with your site, draft up an email announcing the launch. We have included a sample at the end of this article. We all know that having a website is nothing new in today’s world. Instead of emphasizing the launch of a site, focus on what’s special about it and what viewers can expect. Explain what they will be able to find on your site (such as our informative content library) and what’s different compared to your old site. The goal is to drive traffic from your email to your actual website.

Lastly, it’s important not to demand viewers visit your new site. We suggest using polite phrases instead. Some examples are:

  • “I hope you get the chance to view my new site.”
  • “I encourage you to explore the new features I have added.”
  • “I thank you in advance for visiting.”

These phrases still show what you want your clients to do (visit your site) but they aren’t as demanding as phrases like “visit now” or “check it out today.” You may also want to add other calls to action, such as encouraging viewers to visit you on social media, read your blog, or subscribe to your email newsletter.

Once again, congratulations on choosing to build a site with the leader in digital marketing for service professionals, FMG Suite.

Here is a sample of an announcement email that one of our customers sent out to his contacts:

One of the reasons I was drawn to this industry 35 years ago, and why I love what I do, is because I understand the complexities of the business and want to reach out to others who are concerned about their future.

I have been working on a new website that encompasses what my practice stands for, and I hope you have the chance to look it over. My mission from the beginning has always been simple — provide clients with the resources they need to work toward their personal goals and secure a future for themselves and their families.

If you are a client of mine, I thank you for entrusting me with the privilege of managing your business. If you are not yet a client and are looking to take control of your future, I encourage you to take the first step and reach out to me for a complimentary consultation. There are few things more valuable to you and your family than having confidence in your future, and I hope to help provide this confidence through my professional services.

Thank you,

Distill Your Niche

"...while they can’t turn back the clock and address these issues beforehand - such as increasing their spouse’s life insurance or saving more - there are ways to take control and feel more confident in their future.
When working with widows, there are a few first steps I recommend taking:

1. Get Organized
Whether or not you handled all of your family’s finances, some, or none, the first step is to organize your financial documents. Before you can determine how to budget and what steps to take, you have to first understand where you stand financially. If you are having trouble translating your investment account statements, a financial advisor can help you understand what your documents mean. You’ll want to copy and safeguard your important documents and review life insurance policies with a trusted advisor.

2. Budget for a Single Income
More than half of widows have difficulty adjusting to a single income. This may because they haven’t reevaluated their bills and expenses and adjusted..."

Consistent Messaging

"...Once we understand your family’s current circumstances, goals, and unique needs, we develop strategies to help preserve and potentially grow your wealth and take over the time-consuming tasks associated with managing your complex financial affairs. Working with a family office can benefit families in a number of ways, including:

  • Preserving wealth through proactive management and appropriate strategies
  • Mitigating risk by diversifying investments
  • Assisting with the transfer of wealth from one generation to the next through strategic asset allocation and estate planning..."

Unique Articles in Your Voice

"...More than likely, you have a clear understanding of your relationship with your doctor or your dentist. You pay a fee and, in return, you receive a service, including advice and recommendations based on your individual situation. It would make sense then for your relationship with your financial advisor to be the same; but for many, that’s not the case.

At Financial Guideposts, we’ve noticed a trend: that the general public does not understand the relationship they have with their financial advisor. We want to change that. We believe there are two critical aspects you should understand when working with a financial advisor: how he or she gets paid and what services he or she provides..."
