Connecting Redtail with FMG Suite

A CRM is a technology that many financial advisors and wealth management firms use to manage and analyze client interactions and data throughout the client lifecycle, with the goal of improving client relationships, driving leads, and retaining clients. CRM systems compile critical client information, including points of contact, anniversaries, personal information, and other notes.

No. This is a free integration automatically within the FMG Suite dashboard. You don’t have to use it if you don’t have Redtail, nor will it impact any of your marketing tools or pricing.

No, you can only sync one Redtail account with your FMG Suite account.

Integrating with your Redtail account, each contact in your FMG Suite account pulls in the following information:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Gender
  • Marital status
  • Birthdate
  • Client anniversary
  • Email status

Log into your FMG Suite dashboard. On the left navigation bar, click on “Email” under the “Setup” option, and then “Contacts.”

From this page, click on the gear icon and select “Redtail CRM Sync.” You’ll be prompted to log into your Redtail account to authenticate. We do not store your Redtail username or password and you will not be required to connect to Redtail every time you log into your dashboard. This one-time authentication process allows us to sync your FMG dashboard with Redtail. Once connected, you can sync your contacts.

Yes. Log into your Redtail account. From the main dashboard, click on “Integrations” in the top right navigation. A popup box will appear listing all available integrations. Click on “FMG Suite,” followed by “Single Sign On.” This option will authenticate your FMG Suite login.

If you’ve already connected Redtail in your FMG Suite dashboard, you do not need to complete this step.

Integration starts in your FMG Suite dashboard. Your contacts need to be synced through the FMG Suite Contact tool, which will port all Redtail contacts to FMG Suite.

When connecting your Redtail and FMG Suite accounts, you can sync all of your contacts and groups (known as “tag groups” in Redtail), or just specific groups.

During the syncing process, all of your contacts in your FMG Suite dashboard will be replaced with your Redtail contacts lists. Your FMG Suite contacts will be overwritten, so make sure all of your FMG Suite contacts are also in your Redtail account before syncing.

Once your contacts are synced, you can update on-demand only when you want to, or select the option to automatically update your contacts list on a daily basis. Remember, any changes to a contact’s information can only be made within your Redtail account.

On your FMG Suite website, all form submissions (including newsletter signup, event registration, and, eventually, contact submissions) will automatically add the contact into your FMG Suite contacts and push a note to your Redtail account.

If the contact is new to Redtail, the contact will be added and a description of the lead source will be added to the contact record. If the contact is not new to Redtail, the FMG Suite system will send a description of the lead source and add to the “Notes” section of the contact’s record.

To adhere to the new DOL fiduciary rule Redtail added a new data field, “BICE” (Best Interest Contract Exemption), to the existing Written Agreements Review area. This helps advisors track their adherence to this component of the new Department of Labor Fiduciary rule.
