Frequently Asked Questions

Redtail is a CRM system, also known as Client Relationship Management. A CRM is a technology that many financial advisors and wealth management firms use to manage and analyze client interactions and data throughout the client lifecycle, with the goal of improving client relationships, driving leads, and retaining clients. CRM systems compile critical client information, including points of contact, anniversaries, personal information, and other notes.
No. This is a free integration automatically within the FMG Suite dashboard. You don’t have to use it if you don’t have Redtail, nor will it impact any of your marketing tools or pricing.
If you would like to learn more about Redtail Tailwag, contact Redtail Technology by visiting http://corporate.redtailtechnology.com/. Currently, you cannot purchase or create a Redtail account through FMG Suite. Redtail pricing varies so we cannot provide you pricing options.

From this page, click on the gear icon and select “Redtail CRM Sync.” You’ll be prompted to log into your Redtail account to authenticate. We do not store your Redtail username or password and you will not be required to connect to Redtail every time you log into your dashboard. This one-time authentication process allows us to sync your FMG dashboard with Redtail. Once connected, you can sync your contacts.

Yes. Log into your Redtail Tailwag account. From the main dashboard, click on “Integrations” in the top right navigation. A popup box will appear listing all available integrations. Click on “FMG Suite,” followed by “Single Sign On.” This option will authenticate your FMG Suite login.

If you’ve already connected Redtail in your FMG Suite dashboard, you do not need to complete this step.

Integration starts in your FMG Suite dashboard. Your contacts need to be synced through the FMG Suite Contact tool, which will port all Redtail contacts to FMG Suite.

When connecting your Redtail and FMG Suite accounts, you can sync all of your contacts and groups (known as “tag groups” in Redtail), or just specific groups.

During the syncing process, all of your contacts in your FMG Suite dashboard will be replaced with your Redtail contacts lists. Your FMG Suite contacts will be overwritten, so make sure all of your FMG Suite contacts are also in your Redtail account before syncing.

Once your contacts are synced, you can update on-demand only when you want to, or select the option to automatically update your contacts list on a daily basis. Remember, any changes to a contact’s information can only be made within your Redtail account.

On your FMG Suite website, all form submissions (including newsletter signup, event registration, and, eventually, contact submissions) will automatically add the contact into your FMG Suite contacts and push a note to your Redtail Tailwag account.

If the contact is new to Redtail, the contact will be added and a description of the lead source will be added to the contact record. If the contact is not new to Redtail, the FMG Suite system will send a description of the lead source and add to the “Notes” section of the contact’s record.

To adhere to the new DOL fiduciary rule Redtail added a new data field, “BICE” (Best Interest Contract Exemption), to the existing Written Agreements Review area. This helps advisors track their adherence to this component of the new Department of Labor Fiduciary rule.

If you’re having trouble syncing your two accounts or have other questions, contact our Customer Service team by emailing service@fmgsuite.com or calling 858-251-2420.

Distill Your Niche

"...while they can’t turn back the clock and address these issues beforehand - such as increasing their spouse’s life insurance or saving more - there are ways to take control and feel more confident in their future.
When working with widows, there are a few first steps I recommend taking:

1. Get Organized
Whether or not you handled all of your family’s finances, some, or none, the first step is to organize your financial documents. Before you can determine how to budget and what steps to take, you have to first understand where you stand financially. If you are having trouble translating your investment account statements, a financial advisor can help you understand what your documents mean. You’ll want to copy and safeguard your important documents and review life insurance policies with a trusted advisor.

2. Budget for a Single Income
More than half of widows have difficulty adjusting to a single income. This may because they haven’t reevaluated their bills and expenses and adjusted..."

Consistent Messaging

"...Once we understand your family’s current circumstances, goals, and unique needs, we develop strategies to help preserve and potentially grow your wealth and take over the time-consuming tasks associated with managing your complex financial affairs. Working with a family office can benefit families in a number of ways, including:

  • Preserving wealth through proactive management and appropriate strategies
  • Mitigating risk by diversifying investments
  • Assisting with the transfer of wealth from one generation to the next through strategic asset allocation and estate planning..."

Unique Articles in Your Voice

"...More than likely, you have a clear understanding of your relationship with your doctor or your dentist. You pay a fee and, in return, you receive a service, including advice and recommendations based on your individual situation. It would make sense then for your relationship with your financial advisor to be the same; but for many, that’s not the case.

At Financial Guideposts, we’ve noticed a trend: that the general public does not understand the relationship they have with their financial advisor. We want to change that. We believe there are two critical aspects you should understand when working with a financial advisor: how he or she gets paid and what services he or she provides..."
