Program advisors were nearly twice as likely to stay consistent all year, solving the problem that holds most advisors back
Gardena, CA – November 5, 2026 – Every financial advisor has heard that consistency is the secret to marketing. New research released today by FMG, the leading marketing and growth platform for financial advisors, shows just how much it pays off, and how few advisors manage to sustain it on their own.
In a 12-month analysis of more than 12,000 advisors on its platform, FMG found:
- Faster growth: Advisors in the Do It For Me Program grew their prospect and or contact lists about 30% faster than advisors who manage their own marketing (4.8% vs. 3.6% median growth).
- Far more consistency: 79% of program advisors marketed consistently all year, compared with 45% of self-managed advisors.
- More new contacts: The typical program advisor added 29 net new contacts, versus 10, while starting from a list more than twice as large.
- An edge even among the most disciplined: Among advisors who marketed consistently, program advisors still added more, 37 net new contacts versus 25.
- Strong engagement: Program emails averaged a 33% open rate.
Consistency Is the Difference
Marketing rarely stalls because advisors don’t believe in it. It stalls because client meetings, market swings and the daily demands of running a practice push it down the list. The data reflects that reality. Fewer than half of self-managed advisors met FMG’s bar for consistent marketing, at least six active months and 24 marketing touches in a year. In the Do It For Me Program, where a dedicated team handles execution, nearly eight in ten did.
“Consistency has always been the secret to organic growth. Now we can measure it,” said Samantha Russell, Chief Evangelist at FMG. “Advisors who show up month after month, in every channel their clients use, build bigger audiences. The content isn’t the hard part. Showing up every single month while you’re running a practice is. Advisors who manage their own marketing on FMG absolutely can grow, and the ones who stay consistent do. Do It For Me takes consistency off the advisor’s plate entirely, which is why so many more of them get there.”
Every Channel, Every Month
The Do It For Me Program pairs each advisor with a dedicated Marketing Concierge who executes a monthly content calendar on their behalf, so their presence never goes quiet. The calendar is developed by Susan Theder, FMG’s Chief Marketing and Experience Officer, and Samantha Russell, Chief Evangelist, two of the most recognized voices in financial services marketing, and shaped by an advisory board of active advisors. A typical month includes:
- Client and prospect emails, plus breaking-news emails ready within hours of major market events
- Social posts optimized for LinkedIn and Instagram, with twice-weekly social assists in between
- SEO- and AEO-optimized blogs built around the questions clients and prospects are actually asking
- Video scripts, webinar outlines, and referral and center-of-influence campaigns
Advisors spend about 30 minutes a month reviewing and approving what goes out. Everything else is handled for them.
Built for How Investors Search Today
Program blogs are engineered for answer engine optimization (AEO), so an advisor’s expertise surfaces when clients and prospects turn to Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews for answers. Combined with email, social and video, that keeps advisors visible wherever their next client is looking.
“Advisors don’t need more marketing tasks on their plate. They need marketing that runs every month, across every channel, no matter how busy their week gets,” said Susan Theder, Chief Marketing and Experience Officer at FMG. “Left to do it themselves, most advisors can’t stay consistent, and very few can show up on email, social, blogs and video at the same time. That consistent, omnichannel presence is what drives organic growth. It’s exactly what we built Do It For Me to deliver, and now we have the data to show it.”
For advisors, the takeaway is simple: the marketing that wins is the marketing that actually goes out. Advisors can learn more about the Do It For Me Program at fmgsuite.com/features/marketing-assist.
Methodology: FMG analyzed contact-list data for 12,361 advisors who were continuously active from July 1, 2025, through July 1, 2026 (1,017 in the Do It For Me Program and 11,344 Premium subscribers who manage their own marketing). Trial, demo and compliance officer accounts were excluded, and no advisor who joined during the period was included. Groups are based on current subscription. Figures are medians per advisor. Consistent marketing means at least six active months and at least 24 marketing touches during the period. Open rate equals unique opens divided by delivered recipients for emails sent July 1, 2025, through July 1, 2026.
