It’s time for our next “Meet the Team” blog! We caught up with DIFM Marketing Assistant, Shannon Poucher. When she isn’t helping advisors get started and get the most out of their “Do It For Me” marketing, she loves reading, hanging out with her family and watching Game of Thrones. To kick things off, where are you from, and where do you live now?

I grew up in a small town near Yorktown Va then moved to Myrtle Beach SC with my husband. We just recently after 20 years moved to Greenville SC and we absolutely love it!

We have been so excited about our new DIFM “Do It For Me” marketing program. As a DIFM Marketing Assistant, we know you have a lot going on! From helping customers get started to answering their questions and more, what has been your favorite part about this role?

My favorite part will always be working with an incredible team to provide an exceptional customer experience.

Continuing from the question above, do you have any particular success stories or “aha” moments that have stood out for you?

Round tabling with other teams to improve efficiency for the “Do It For Me” Marketing Assistants, is a huge success. We have worked hard to find solutions together and I am always honored to be a part of the process.

When you work remotely, it’s fun to hear about people’s different routines that keep them motivated and help them to stay productive. Can you describe a “typical” work day for you?

I typically check emails, Slack and my calendar. Then work through cases and tasks before hosting Dashboard Onboarding calls and attending meetings. Oh, and coffee… coffee is necessary!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Understanding how people would like to be communicated with best.

What do you like to do in your free time?

READ! I am an avid reader of all types of books. I have several books going at any given time.

Are you a sports fan? If so, what teams do you cheer for?

Yes! As far as professional teams, I am a Dallas Cowboys fan but my favorite team to cheer for is always the one my teenage son is playing on.

With the shorter days upon us, we’re spending more time inside. What is your go-to tv series … anything we should be binging right now?

I am a huge Game of Thrones fan so right now, House of the Dragon. I have also really enjoyed the Star Wars mini-series, especially the Mandalorian.

It’s hard to believe the holidays are right around the corner! Do you have any traditions that you and your family like to do this time of year?

My teenage daughter and I love to create themes for decorating this time of year. We have done Disney villains, Prep and Landing, and lots of interesting color schemes.

What is some of the best advice you have ever received?

Show up in every single moment like you’re meant to be there.
